One of the most unique things about this site is its groups feature.

If you haven't taken a look, head on over to: www.oldnum7.com/groups

It does just what you would think it does... allows YOU to create a group for any purpose (we just ask that you keep it truck related). In the past we're always asked "can you create a new forum for ___?" Well, we now have the answer. Just create a Group!

What do you get? You get your own forum, and the ability for members to sign up to your group to create a small sub-community of Old #7. In the near future you will have other capabilities (such as live chat for our group and your own group photo gallery), but for now you have your own forum and the ability to invite other people to join your group.

Step 1: Step 1 is to go to the Groups page and click the Create Group button at the bottom of the page. www.oldnum7.com/group/create

Step 2: Create your group. This can be virtually anything (Jack Daniels related, people!) Don't be shy, but make sure that before you perform Step 2 that you listen up--step 3 is pretty important.

Step 3: Why create a group if you're not going to promote it? You now have in your hands your own forum to do with as you please. Start promoting it and "put your junk in that group"! Let people know that you have a hot new group! Nobody will join your group and post about their experiences if you don't let them know about it. So, once you've created your group click your "Invite" link at the top of your group page. You can invite members of Old #7, or you can invite friends and family that aren't yet members.

Step 4: Manage your group! Keep your forum alive by answering questions and posting new topics to stir new conversation. You are now a mini-Webmaster of your own site (er, group).

You can also create a group that is private (which means it won't show up in the main groups list). After a while when you've reached your limit of members, you can always close it to new members. It's you're group, it's your call.

So get out there and start your group! Just make sure you spend some time promoting it.
